The Challenge

Nepal Tea Exchange was facing repeated rejection of export VAT refund claims at the Inland Revenue Department. Over three consecutive quarters, six major claims totaling NPR 45 lakh had been rejected due to documentation errors — mismatched invoice formats, incorrect HS codes on customs declarations, and inconsistent descriptions between IRD records and customs export permits. Each rejection triggered a 30–60 day review cycle, crippling cash flow and delaying payments to upstream farmers. The founding team had no accounting background and had been managing compliance on their own using spreadsheets.

Our Solution

CCBC began with a full retrospective audit of three years of rejected claims and identified five recurring documentation errors. We standardized all export invoices to meet IRD's specific format requirements, trained the finance team in eight structured sessions covering customs documentation and HS code classification, and established a direct communication protocol with the company's IRD case officer. A pre-submission checklist was introduced so every VAT refund claim passes an internal review before filing. Monthly compliance review meetings now catch issues before deadlines, eliminating the reactive cycle that had caused the cash flow crisis.

The Challenge

Iroha Education Consultancy was growing rapidly — placing students in international universities — but lacked the formal business structure required by international university partners. Foreign universities demanded registered legal entities with audited accounts before signing partnership MOUs. The consultancy was collecting student fees through personal accounts, had no VAT registration, and had never filed an income tax return. This informal structure was limiting growth and creating legal exposure for the founders.

Our Solution

CCBC completed a full-scope company setup for Iroha — Private Limited registration at OCR, IRD PAN and VAT registration, and preparation of MOA and AOA suitable for an education services company. We designed a student fee tracking system that separates collections by intake, university, and service type, allowing clean financial reporting for each partner institution. A monthly financial reporting structure was implemented, and we prepared the audited annual accounts needed to satisfy international university due diligence requirements. With a fully compliant legal identity, Iroha was able to sign 15 formal university partnerships within its first operating year.
